Megyn Robertson
MSC Physio
In 2005, Megyn Robertson completed her BSc Physiotherapy degree at UCT. She was awarded the Best Student in Clinical Physiotherapy for both her third and fourth years. Megyn completed her MSc Physiotherapy degree at Stellenbosch University, where she specialized in Orthopaedics and Manual Therapy (OMT) and graduated in December 2012, cum laude.
Megyn is practice owner and clinician for Well Beings Physio in Craighall Park. She is a member of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), South African Society of Physiotherapy (SASP) and Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP).
As a newly qualified, Megyn gained valuable experience working in private practice in Co. Kerry and Co. Dublin (Ireland), working in conjunction with the Kerry Minor Hurling and Dublin Gaelic Football teams respectively. Returning to South Africa, she worked under the guidance of experienced physiotherapists, where she had the opportunity to work with elite athletes such as the Highveld Lions Cricket, Moroko Swallows Football and the Canadian Men’s national Cricket team at the ICC World Cup Qualifiers. Megyn also worked at St johns College for two consecutive rugby seasons.
In 2011, Megyn was co-physiotherapist with the SA National Swimming team who competed in the FINA World Champs in Shanghai. From November 2012 to 2015, Megyn had the privilege of working with the SA Men’s National Hockey team and travelled with the team for international sporting events, including the Hockey World Cup in Holland in 2015.
In 2016, Megyn discovered a new interest in concussion and the role physiotherapy has to play in the assessment, management, and treatment of post-concussion syndrome (PCS). She has a special interest in vestibular and OMT physiotherapy in rehabilitation of PCS injuries.
