Course Description

Lipoedema is often overlooked, misdiagnosed, or mistaken for obesity or lymphoedema. This practical introductory evening lecture is designed to give healthcare professionals the knowledge and confidence to recognise lipoedema in clinical practice — and know what to do when they spot it.

What you can expect to learn:

  • What lipoedema is and how it presents
  • How to recognise the key signs and symptoms
  • How to differentiate between lipoedema, obesity and lymphoedema
  • The different stages and presentations of lipoedema
  • When and where to refer your patient
  • Available treatment and management options
  • How to support your patient following a diagnosis

Walk away with practical, clinically relevant knowledge that you can use to identify lipoedema earlier and guide your patients towards appropriate care.

The difference between Lipoedema and lymphoedema. I did not know Lipoedema even existed before!

Very clear slides, clear diction, not speaking too fast and elaborating on points on slides - all really helpful.

Useful information

I liked that co-physio information is being shared. We see lots of stuff, not all physio really but we need to be Jacks's of all trades and this is a great entry course. I did it because I work with a nurse who does lymphodema treatments - this is very useful information
