Course Description

This webinar is designed for physiotherapists who treat wider musculoskeletal impairments such as postural correction, gait rehabilitation by incorporating rehabilitation of diaphragm. We will identify clinical and functional application of diaphragm thus incorporating the power of breath, length and strength of diaphragm in patient rehabilitation from a holistic integrated perspective in a deconditioned patient. We will apply the learned knowledge in a case study and build a patient centric rehabilitation plan.

Objectives:

1. Identify the structures related to the anatomy and physiology of diaphragm. ( 20min)
2. Understand and identify the physical and physiological effects of deconditioning and immobility ( 20min)
3. Explore Perform strengthening and stretching ex’s for diaphragm in various positions of supine, sitting , standing and ambulation through different stages of rehabilitation using a case study (35min)
