Comprehensive assessment of the elbow

I enjoyed the extensive discussion of the elbow assessment - including the subjective, objective exams as well as the presentation of certain elbow pathologies. It was very helpful to go through the assessment sheet you provided as the course went on as I can instantly implement the tips and tricks in my practice.

Not to be missed

I liked the anatomy, refresher and the practical videos. Re-established the basics and took it further aiding clinical reasoning and thinking. Repeated that it is not all tennis elbow and we need to often look deeper to further assess and treat our patients.

CPD Points : 2 general CEU’s (Level 1)

Presenter: Tanya Bell-Jenje

In clinical practice we are often faced with patients presenting with elbow pain. What on first glance is a simple joint to assess & treat, often rears its obstinate head with multiple complexing presentations, histories of persistent pain & often hyperalgesia with associated contributing factors from other neural, vascular & musculo-skeletal structures. Certainly, an efficient, clearly clinically reasoned assessment is the cornerstone of making the correct diagnosis & structuring the optimal management plan for best outcomes.

In this live recording of the webinar, I discuss & / or demonstrate the following:

  • Best practice history taking with key questions pertinent to the elbow
  • The importance of the PRTEE questionnaire
  • Detailed objective testing, bearing in mind that all tests should ‘make sense’ & that often ‘less is more’
  • Lots of elbow-specific tips & tricks

An elbow-specific assessment form will be available for you to download & use to assess patients presenting to your clinics with elbow pain.
