Course Description
There are many reasons why the assessment of a patient with a shoulder problem is often approached with apprehension and uncertainty. The shoulder girdle is a complex, integrated unit made of interconnected structures and even more complex mechanics. The myriad of special assessment tests and all their variations make even the boldest clinician uncertain of the way forward. In this presentation, we hope to provide a logical approach to assessing all patients presenting with shoulder complaints. This easily repeatable approach is based on an understanding of the relevant shoulder anatomy, the normal kinematics around the shoulder and the integrated function of the same.
