Course Outline
Diagnosing the source of Buttock Pain can be confusing due to the conflicting findings of researchers that often focus on only one region or pathology within the buttock. This results in one test being implicated as diagnostic for a multitude of different pathologies. In this presentation we differentiate SIJ pain from Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome and from Deep Gluteal Pain Syndrome (DGPS). Specific pathologies that fall under the umbrella term of DGPS are described and discussed, as is their clinical presentation and best management, including prescriptive advice and rehabilitation.
