Frozen Shoulder (FS) is a painful and debilitating condition that is both poorly understood and frequently misdiagnosed in the clinical setting, enhancing the patients emotional distress.  It is associated with substantial pain, movement restriction and morbidity, imposing a substantial burden on both individuals afflicted by it and healthcare systems alike. Although reportedly self-resolving, some individuals report symptoms for 11 years or more and many never regain full shoulder movement.  Despite ongoing research into its pathogenesis and treatment, there remains a marked lack of clinically relevant evidence on how best to treat and manage this debilitating condition.

In this webinar, we will discuss how physiotherapy can play a pivotal role in the frozen shoulder journey by shortening its duration and empowering individuals to better manage their symptoms. We will delve into the pathogenesis of frozen shoulder across its three distinct phases – Freezing, Frozen, and Thawing. Our discussion will cover best treatment and rehabilitation strategies tailored to each phase. Additionally, we will address comprehensive physiotherapy management, encompassing assessment, diagnosis, imaging, education, health screening, manual therapy techniques, and personalized rehabilitation plans, including aquatherapy.

This was a most excellent course

It was clear and succinct, for the first time giving a clear outline of the three different stages, including excellent anatomy and pathology; and how to manage and guide the patient through each stage. I liked the biopsychosocial approach and the course was particularly applicable as I have a FS patient at present. So it was very good to practice hot off the press as it were!

I found this an excellent and very practical course. Clear explanations of the progression and pathology of frozen shoulder and of the treatment procedures at each stage. Very well presented by both speakers. I now have a much clearer understanding of how to treat these patients. Thank you.

Very informative

I liked that we are encouraged to support these patients through this process. So many Dr's tell Frozen shoulder patients that physio cant help. So it was helpful to hear that we must persevere in guiding and encouraging and helping them. Thank you
