Johan – better known as Ollie – is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the HPCSA. He has a Masters Degree I Counselling Psychology and completed 2 internships in Counselling and Clinical Psychology.
He has had a rich career as a consultant psychologist since 1995, with prior experience as a General Manager in a health care company, a private practice in Clinical & Counselling Psychology, worked in the Public Sector and in Academia as a lecturer.
His involvement with Physiotherapy started when he taught undergraduate physiotherapists on Psychology topics in general and patient care in particular. His exposure in public and private hospitals, working as a psychologist in several medical disciplines, constantly had him engage with multi-disciplinary professions on many levels.
Whilst his career took him into doing work with corporates mainly, over the last years his involvement in health (both physical & mental wellbeing) has been reignited. During the COVID-19 lockdown period he has presented webinars and workshops (on-line & face-to-face) on topics such as Compassion Fatigue, Burnout, Post-Traumatic Growth, Moral Injury, Resilience, Emotional Intelligence, Coaching and Leadership.
Ollie is married to Carole and has two beautiful daughters, one in Amsterdam and the other in Johannesburg. His love for nature and music has exposed him to travelling and hiking in a number of African countries, as well as Australia, Spain, UK & USA.
