Course Description
We will explore how different surgical approaches influence rehabilitation, what to prioritise when patients are still house-bound, and the key elements of Phase 2 rehabilitation, including the transition to full weight-bearing gait. The course will also address regaining strength, fitness, and confidence as patients progress through Phases 2 and 3.
Common challenges and complications will be discussed, including delayed progress, suspected CRPS, wound and scar-healing concerns, and situations where there is fear of surgical compromise. The session concludes with guidance on return-to-sport decision-making and long-term functional outcomes.
Real clinical cases will be used to bring the content to life, with time allocated for discussion and questions.
